cafe bar paco cordones is a small, unpretentious coffee spot nestled in Granada’s Centro district that feels less like a café and more like a neighbor’s kitchen. Located on C. Molinos, it’s the kind of place where locals start their mornings with a quiet espresso and a simple, authentic breakfast. The vibe is warm and casual, shaped by the genuinely welcoming presence of Paco and his family, who run the place with a down-to-earth friendliness that invites repeated visits.

The atmosphere here is relaxed and intimate, making it an easy choice for anyone looking for a straightforward, no-frills start to the day. It’s common to see small groups or locals chatting comfortably, and even larger parties are quickly made to feel at home without any fuss. The focus is clearly on authentic, home-style food and strong coffee rather than trendy presentation or an extensive menu.

Speaking of food, the offerings lean towards traditional breakfast and light bites with a local touch. Items like Tosta de Tomate y Aceite and Croquetas del Cocido con Patatas Fritas provide a simple but satisfying meal, while fresh orange juice and a robust espresso complement perfectly. It’s the kind of place where the coffee tastes noticeably fresh and well-made—a key part of its draw for daily visitors.

Visitors should keep in mind that the café operates mostly with cash payments, which can be a surprise in an otherwise easygoing setting. Despite this small inconvenience, many appreciate the genuine character that cash-only spots often preserve.

Best times to visit are mornings or early afternoons when the neighborhood is just waking up and the café fills with a mix of locals catching up or taking a break. Those who appreciate a warm, informal environment and straightforward food—and who don’t mind the chatter mostly in Spanish—will find this spot fitting their expectations. It’s a place for quiet conversations, casual breakfasts, and a glimpse into everyday life in Granada’s city center rather than a polished tourist experience.

Lovely and welcoming owner that served a delicious espresso. Only reason for lacking a star is because card is not accepted (even debit), something annoying for me that hardly walks with cash (luckily my partner had a few euros in her wallet)

Lovely "Barrio cafe" in realejo. Paco and his family prepared our light and tasty breakfast for 3 days. It was a pleasure to know him. Recommended!!!!

Even with a group of 6 we felt welcomed immediately. The staff and even the other guests were super friendly and we had a pleasant time with authentic breakfast food.

Great local place for breakfast. The family was very nice. No English. Food was really good. Price is great. Coffee was delicious. Orange juice is fresh squeezed.

This is a wonderful little breakfast place. We stayed in a vrbo apartment across the street and went here four times during the week for breakfast. The toast (tostadas) and sandwiches (bocadillas) were very good and very inexpensive. The couple running the place were very friendly. I speak very little Spanish, but they were helpful and encouraging with the orders and payments. It is cash only, so bring euros with you.

Looking for good coffee and a nice light breakfast. Make sure to stop here. The croissant marmalade is a must order.

We have returned to this family run cafe over a period of 15 years. Every day a delicious and varied menu del día is cooked by the lady of the house. Local ingredients are used for ample traditional but individual dishes. They accept cash but no card payments which is reflected in the excellent value of the meals, so this is certainly no disincentive.
